To put the rarity of the pink diamond into perspective, this stunning gemstone can cost up to 20 times more than traditional white diamonds. The pink diamond, also known as the “Argyle Pink Diamond,” is sourced from the Kimberley Region in Western Australia. 90% of the world’s source of pink diamonds came from here.
The pink diamond can be found in a variety of hues, cuts and combinations. Unlike that of the white diamond, the pink diamond’s value is based on the deepness of the colour. These specialties are graded in terms of colour intensity. And they can range from faint to light, all the way through to a fancy vivid. With value aside, the combination of secondary hues and the tone of pink is purely down to personal taste. A true statement of luxury and grace.

Grading Pink Diamonds
Even though pink diamonds are one of the most valuable gemstones available, not all of them are created equal – with some being more valuable than others. But, how can you determine which ones are more precious? A grading system is used to assess their value and is decided by two factors.
The first factor is the hue of the gemstone. Not all pink diamonds are entirely pink, with many of them having supplementary colours such as orange and yellow. Even though diamonds with these supplementary colours are still valuable, it is the pure pink ones that are most valuable.
The second factor is the intensity of their colours. This covers a vast range and the more intense the colour, the more valuable the diamond. Pink diamonds will range from a faint or light pink colour to the incredibly sought-after fancy deep and fancy vivid intensities.
Why Armans Fine Jewellery?
Even though there are many Sydney-based jewellers that make pink diamond jewellery, there are some benefits that you can only get when working with one of Sydney’s best jewellers.
At Armans Fine Jewellery, we take great pride when it comes to making each and every jewellery piece. Our exquisite attention to detail when it comes to the quality of the diamond, metal, design and positioning. When you get a pink diamond ring from Armans Fine Jewellery, you know that it has one of the highest-quality gemstones available.
Even though most pink diamonds can be found in the Argyle Diamond Mine, there are some other areas where they can be acquired. However, some of these areas are where there is occasional civil unrest and many of the area’s natural resources are often used to fund that civil unrest.
At Armans Fine Jewellery, we make sure that every gem and metal we use has been ethically sourced. That’s why we can guarantee that none of our pink diamonds are conflict diamonds that have been used to fund civil unrest.
